Data Usage Policy

Last updated: January 27, 2026

This policy explains how InSights uses data—what we collect, how we analyze it, and how we protect it. We are transparent about analytics, user-provided data, and search history, and we do not sell data or build behavioral profiles.

1. Introduction

InSights prioritizes user privacy in data handling. This policy covers all data collected through InSights site and services. We collect only what we need and use it only for stated purposes.

2. Types of Data We Collect

User-Provided Data

  • Email: For early access signup, contact requests, newsletters
  • Profile info: Name, company, role, message (optional, from contact forms)
  • Search rules & preferences: Keywords, filters, frequency (when accounts launch)
  • Engagement notes: Any annotations or comments you add
  • Explicit: We do not collect LinkedIn credentials, private profile data, or engagement history

Automatically Collected Data

  • Analytics: Via Vercel Analytics (privacy-first, cookieless)—page views, referrer, device/browser type, general location (country-level only)
  • Server logs: IP address, timestamp, request type (for security and debugging). Logs typically retained for 30 days, then deleted
  • Error tracking: Bug reports and errors (anonymized)

Derived Data

  • Aggregated analytics: "X searches per day", "Y users from country Z"
  • Search trend analysis: Patterns across all users (anonymized)
  • Note: Individual search histories are not sold or shared

  • Retention: Search history typically retained for 30 days, then anonymized or deleted
  • Aggregation: Queries are aggregated and anonymized to identify trends
  • Explicit: Individual search histories are never sold, shared, or used for targeting
